What Matters?

If you’re anything like me, you go through your day, one way or another, fending off the world. Be it politics, news, trivial matters of living, or, for some, getting over a tragedy whether the tragedy is recent or a while ago. As we do this it should be noted that it is taking time away from us to consider our relationship with God. This is a natural thing as we have to deal with this world, in one way or another, almost every second of the day.

It will behoove us to allow our thoughts to rest their foundation on God even while we go through the day, after day, after day, In this way we will find ourselves stable and understanding that this world is not the happy place we would like it to be. It is, instead, a place of deception and, in some ways, like a vampire sucking out our resistance toward remaining steady in our faith. The world, when all is said and done, is visible only the time we live. Before and after we get here it goes on killing, angering, and misleading all who live their short lives making them pay attention to trivialities of life.

It is within these distractions that the devil has his field day with us. Jesus warned us: “Be no part of the world.” In part, this is what He is referring to. Don’t allow trivialities to harm your relationship with God and the Christ. Stand tall and strong in faith and this short life suddenly has meaning outside and above the world. This is a place of strength and strength is what we are all looking for.

As God told us, “We do not put one foot in front of the other but for Him.” Our eternal reliance rests solely on our Father through Jesus because there is much more to time than our brief debut on this planet. If you begin to grasp this truth then you begin to grasp God. The Bible will help you do this if you allow it to. Having a Bible without opening its pages does nothing for you. Allow your true Father into your hearts and watch the change it allows you. It is literally mind boggling. Who knew?
